it's still not exactly what we'd call a bustling metropolis! Founded in 1788 as a herring port it is now popular as a base for exploring
Ross-shire, Cromarty, Sutherland, The Black Isle and Inverness. Once you come out here you'll see why the Scottish highlands are so
popular that people keep coming back. Sparesly populated yet home to some of the most beautiful and unspoiled scenery in the world it's
sure to be a hit with travelling companions of all ages.
This holiday is designed to stay in one place so that you have a base for the duration of the holiday. Don't worry, there's plenty to do in the
area - hiking, cycling, exploring, spotting wildlife, exploring the towns, visiting small islands, listening to local music and eating some
traditional Scottish food.

Day 1 Arrive
Pick up your car in Inverness/Edinburgh then transfer to your base for the next 6 days, a
fantastically located self-catering cottage located in the heart of scenic northern Scotland.
Settle in, unpack and relax in your second home. For those with more energy run around
and explore the cabin and the area surrounding it.
Days 2-5 Explore
Spend your days here hiking, cycling and exploring the local area. Explore some of the
most beautiful and unspoilt scenery in the world as you swim at deserted beaches, walk
through lush forests into hidden valleys full of wildlife and cycle along roads twisting and
turning through the hills. Along the coast keep an eye out for whales, seals and porpoises.
If you're after some less active adventuring head in to Ullapool and discover the local arts
and music scene while eating some traditional Scottish food and wander around the
historic harbour which has always been the centre of town life.
Day 6 Depart
Say a sad farewell to your highland home as you leave your cabin to head back to
Inverness/Edinburgh.
